The terminal voltage (U) and the current (I) flowing through the load are measured after the energy storage battery is connected to the load. At this time the internal resistance (R) of the battery is (E-U)/I. The internal resistance of the battery should include the resistance of the positive and negative battery plates, the spacer (membrane), the electrolyte, and the connections. The smaller the internal resistance of the energy storage battery, the larger the capacity of the battery.

Cycle life.
The energy storage battery undergoes a charge and discharge, called a cycle. The number of cycles that the battery can withstand is called cycle life. Fixed lead-acid batteries cycle life is about 300~500 times. The cycle life of valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery is about 1000~1200 times, and the service life is generally more than 10 years.
